What these tools are, what they are not, and the limits of what any calculation can tell you.

This is not advice
Nothing on this site constitutes investment, financial, tax or legal advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or mutual fund scheme.
MFD Central provides calculators. A calculator does arithmetic on the numbers it is given. It does not know your income security, your health, your family obligations, the assets you did not enter, or your tolerance for watching a portfolio fall. Those things determine whether an answer is right for you, and no tool can supply them.
For advice on your own circumstances, speak to a mutual fund distributor or a SEBI-Registered Investment Adviser.
Everything here is an illustration
Every figure produced by this site is an illustration: what would happen if the assumptions you entered turned out to be exactly true, every year, without interruption.
They will not be. In particular:
- Returns do not arrive smoothly. A 12% average is made of years far above and far below it.
- The order in which returns arrive matters enormously, especially near retirement.
- Inflation, tax rules and expense ratios all change over the life of a plan.
- Past performance tells you very little about future performance.
Use these outputs to compare choices and understand direction of travel. Do not treat any number here as a promise.
The assumptions are the weak point
The most common mistake with any financial calculator is trusting a precise answer built on a guessed input. A corpus figure quoted to the rupee is still only as good as the return assumption behind it.
Change one assumption and run it again. If a small change produces a very different answer, the plan is fragile and the number was never the point.
Accuracy and errors
We take the calculations seriously and test them, but we do not warrant that they are free of error. Formulae can be wrong, conventions can be applied inconsistently, and software has bugs.
Verify anything material before acting on it, particularly if you are presenting it to someone else. If you find a discrepancy, please tell us — an error found by one person gets fixed for everyone.
No scheme recommendations
Where our tools refer to fund categories — large cap, short duration, aggressive hybrid and so on — they refer to categories as defined by SEBI, and nothing more. We do not recommend, rate or endorse any specific scheme or asset management company.
A category suggestion is a starting point for a conversation about time horizon and risk. It is not a purchase instruction.
Reports carrying a distributor's branding
Registered distributors can generate reports carrying their own logo, ARN and disclaimer instead of ours.
If you have received a report bearing a distributor's branding, it was produced by that distributor using our tools, from figures they entered. MFD Central did not see those figures, did not review the report, and takes no responsibility for its contents or for any advice accompanying it. Direct any question about it to the distributor whose name appears on it.
Third-party information and links
Some tools use data from third-party sources, including publicly available NAV data. We do not guarantee that such data is accurate, complete or current, and it may lag official records.
Links to official portals — tax authorities, KRAs, registrars, exchanges — are provided for convenience. We are not affiliated with any of them and earn nothing from those links. Always follow the instructions given on the official site itself, as procedures change.
Market risk
Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks. Please read all scheme-related documents carefully before investing.
The value of investments can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you invested. Past performance is not indicative of future results. There is no assurance that any scheme's objective will be achieved.
MFD Central accepts no liability for investment losses, lost profits, lost opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this site or reliance on anything it produces.
